Abbie and Betty

Abbie Cornish, born in 1982 is an Australian actress. Her birth date was the 7th of August, 1982. Cornish was best-known for her performances in films including Heidi, Fanny Brawne and Sweet Pea (in Sucker Punch), Lindy and RoboCop (2011) as well as Sarah and Geostorm (2017). For the latter Cornish won her debut Screen Actors Guild Award as an actor in the film. Jack Gilpin, star of Adventureland 2009 as well as a variety of other films was her dad. Ann McDonough was her mother. The affection and love from her parents made the decision to pursue acting an easy one for the young Betty Gilpin. When the time was right to enroll in college she picked Fordham College where she learned to develop her skills. Gilpin continued to audition for films and television parts, while also appearing in Off Broadway productions. The actress was invited to guest star in the NBC show Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2001-2011) and then followed that up with small roles for the films Ghost Town (2008) and The Northern Kingdom (2009). Gilpin was able to gain a significant amount of TV knowledge in the next seasons, mostly through the roles of guest stars. Her first breakthrough with Nurse Jackie's regular role on 2013. Gilpin was the character Dr. Carrie Roman Gilpin in 34 episodes until Nurse Jackie ended its run in June of 2015. Gilpin was a part of True Story (2015) the next year.
